The Corporate Director for Growth and Environment sits at the very centre of that ambition. This directorate shapes how our borough grows, how our streets look and feel, how residents move around, how we plan for climate resilience, and how we use the extraordinary assets of our built and natural environment to create real economic opportunity. From the South Bank to Brixton, from Streatham to Vauxhall, Lambeth has regeneration stories to tell and many more still to write.

This is not a role for those who prefer the comfort of the status quo. We are in a period of significant change and financial challenge, and we need a leader who can hold the strategic thread across planning, highways, climate, culture and regeneration – driving genuine delivery while working smartly with partners, communities and resources. Our residents are passionate about where they live and ambitious about the future. The person we appoint needs to share that passion and have the track record to match it.
